Susan opened her Cosmetic and Surgical Dermatology practice in Colorado Springs in 2002. She specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery for skin cancer, lasers, tumescent liposuction, fat transfer, fillers, Botox, Sclerotherapy, Mesotherapy, and scar revision. She has extensive knowledge in cosmeceutical (anti-aging) products. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Surgical Dermatology.

Her degrees include a B.A. from Columbia University, an M.D. from New York Medical College, and a Medical Internship/Dermatology Residency at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Additionally, Dr. Ellis completed a full year of post-residency fellowship training in Cosmetic and Surgical Dermatology at Washington University.

She has lectured to both colleagues and community members. She was the Keynote speaker at Memorial Hospital's Spirit of Women 2006 retreat and participates in yearly skin cancer screening clinics. A little-known fact about Dr. Ellis is that she received an Associate's degree from FIDM in Los Angeles and worked in clothing design before deciding to go to medical school. With her artistic background, she is uniquely poised to address the aesthetic aspects of aging skin. She has a keen eye for making her patients look younger and fresher- not overdone.
